What are the commonly used mineral processing chemicals?

Commonly used beneficiation agents play an important role in mineral processing and are used to regulate and control the flotation behavior of minerals. Commonly used mineral processing agents include collectors, foaming agents, regulators and inhibitors.

one. Collectors
The collector improves the adhesion between mineral particles and bubbles by changing the hydrophobicity of the mineral surface, thereby achieving mineral flotation.
1. Chemical properties of xanthates: Xanthates are salts of dithiocarbonates. Common ones include ethyl xanthate (C2H5OCS2Na) and isopropyl xanthate (C3H7OCS2Na). Parameters: Strong collection capacity, but poor selectivity, suitable for flotation of sulfide minerals. Application: used for flotation of copper ore, lead ore and zinc ore. Data: In copper ore flotation, the concentration of ethyl xanthate used is 30-100 g/t, and the recovery rate can reach more than 90%.

2.Dithiophosphates
Chemical properties: Black medicine is a salt of dithiophosphate, the common one is sodium diethyl dithiophosphate (NaO2PS2(C2H5)2). Parameters: Good collection capacity and selectivity, suitable for flotation of sulfide minerals such as copper, lead, and zinc. Application: used for flotation of gold, silver and copper ores. Data: In gold mine flotation, the concentration of black powder used is 20-80 g/t, and the recovery rate can reach more than 85%.

3.Carboxylates
Chemical properties: Carboxylates are compounds containing carboxylic acid groups, such as sodium oleate (C18H33NaO2). Parameters: Suitable for flotation of oxidized minerals and non-metallic minerals. Application: Used for flotation of minerals such as hematite, ilmenite and apatite. Data: In apatite flotation, the concentration of sodium oleate used is 50-150 g/t, and the recovery rate can reach more than 75%.

two. Frothers
The frother is used to produce stable and uniform foam during the flotation process to facilitate the attachment and separation of mineral particles.

1. Chemical properties of Pine Oil: The main component is terpene compounds, which has good foaming properties. Parameters: Strong foaming ability and good foam stability. Application: Widely used in the flotation of various sulfide ores and non-metallic minerals. Data: In copper ore flotation, the concentration of pine alcohol oil used is 10-50 g/t. 2. Chemical properties of Butanol: Butanol is an alcohol compound with medium foaming properties. Parameters: Moderate foaming ability and good foam stability. Application: Suitable for flotation of copper, lead, zinc and other minerals. Data: In lead ore flotation, butanol is used at a concentration of 5-20 g/t.

three. Regulators are used to adjust the pH value of the slurry, inhibit or activate mineral surface properties, thereby improving flotation selectivity.

1. Lime chemical properties: The main component is calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), which is used to adjust the pH value of the slurry. Parameters: The pH value of the slurry can be adjusted to between 10-12. Application: Widely used in flotation of copper, lead and zinc ores. Data: In copper ore flotation, the concentration of lime used is 500-2000 g/t.

2. Chemical properties of Copper Sulfate: Copper sulfate (CuSO4) is a strong oxidant and is often used to activate sulfide minerals. Parameters: The activation effect is remarkable and it is suitable for the flotation of minerals such as pyrite. Application: For activation of copper, lead, and zinc minerals. Data: In lead ore flotation, the concentration of copper sulfate used is 50-200 g/t.
