Research Report on Development Trends and Future Investment Forecast of China’s Zinc Sulfate Industry (2024-2031)

1. Global Zinc Sulfate Sales

Zinc sulfate (ZnSO₄) is an inorganic compound that appears as a colorless or white crystal, granule, or powder. It is primarily used as a raw material for producing lithopone, zinc barium white, and other zinc compounds. It also serves as a nutritional supplement for zinc deficiency in animals, a feed additive in livestock farming, a zinc fertilizer (trace element fertilizer) for crops, a key material in artificial fibers, an electrolyte in the electrolytic production of metallic zinc, a mordant in the textile industry, an emetic and astringent in pharmaceuticals, a fungicide, and a preservative for wood and leather.

In recent years, global zinc sulfate sales have shown an overall growth trend. Data indicates that global zinc sulfate sales increased from 806,400 tons in 2016 to 902,200 tons in 2021, and it is projected that international sales will exceed 1.1 million tons by 2025.

2. Global Zinc Sulfate Market Share

With the continued development of global agriculture, electroplating, and pharmaceutical industries, the demand for zinc sulfate remains stable, driving the expansion of global zinc sulfate production capacity. China, with abundant raw material resources, has gradually become one of the major zinc sulfate producers worldwide.

According to data, China’s sulfuric acid production capacity increased from 124.5 million tons in 2016 to 134 million tons in 2022, while the sulfuric acid output (100% conversion) rose from 91.33 million tons to 95.05 million tons.

In 2022, among the world’s top five zinc sulfate manufacturers, four were Chinese companies, accounting for a total market share of 31.18%. Among them:
• Baohai Weiyuan holds a market share exceeding 10%, making it the global leader in zinc sulfate production.
• Aisoke ranks second with a market share of 9.04%.
• Yuanda Zhongzheng and Huaxing Yehua rank third and fourth with 5.77% and 4.67%, respectively.

3. Import and Export of Zinc Sulfate in China

China has a large-scale zinc sulfate production industry and has become one of the world’s major exporters of zinc sulfate, with exports dominating its foreign trade.

According to the data:
• In 2021, China’s zinc sulfate imports were 3,100 tons, while exports reached 226,900 tons.
• In 2022, imports decreased to 1,600 tons, and exports amounted to 199,500 tons.

In terms of export destinations, in 2022, China’s zinc sulfate was primarily exported to:
1. United States – 13.31%
2. Brazil – 9.76%
3. Australia – 8.32%
4. Bangladesh – 6.45%
5. Peru – 4.91%

These five regions accounted for 43.75% of China’s total zinc sulfate exports.
