Chemical beneficiation is a method that utilizes the differences in chemical properties of different minerals and uses chemical treatment or a combination of chemical treatment and physical beneficiation to enrich and purify useful components, and finally produce chemical concentrate or individual products (metal or metal compound).
Chemical beneficiation has different operations according to different process flows. A typical chemical beneficiation process generally includes five main operations such as preparation operations.
01
The preparation operation is the same as the physical beneficiation method, including crushing and screening of materials, grinding and classification, and ingredient mixing. The purpose is to grind the material to a certain particle size and prepare the appropriate fineness and concentration for the next operation. Sometimes physical beneficiation methods are also used to remove certain harmful impurities or to pre-enrich the target minerals, so that the mineral raw materials and chemical reagents can be batched, Mix well. If fire treatment is used, the materials sometimes need to be dried or sintered to create favorable conditions for the next operation.
02
Roasting operation The purpose of roasting is to change the chemical composition of the ore or remove harmful impurities, so that the target minerals (components) can be transformed into a form that is easy to leach or conducive to physical mineral processing, and prepare conditions for the next operation. The products of roasting include roasted sand, dry dust, wet dust collection liquid and mud, from which useful components can be recovered using corresponding methods according to their composition and properties.
03
The leaching operation is to selectively dissolve useful components or impurity components in the leaching solvent based on the nature of the raw materials and process requirements, thereby phase separation of the useful components and impurity components or the phase separation of the useful components. The following is One process creates conditions for recovering useful components from the leachate or leaching residue.
04
The solid-liquid separation operation is the same as the dehydration operation of physical mineral processing products, but the solid-liquid separation of chemical mineral processing leaching slurry is more difficult. Generally, sedimentation, filtration, classification and other methods are used to process the leaching slurry to obtain the results for the next operation. Clear solutions or solutions containing a small amount of fine mineral particles.
05
In purification operations, in order to obtain high-grade chemical concentrates, the leachate is often purified and separated by chemical precipitation, ion exchange or solvent extraction to remove impurities and obtain a purified solution with a high content of useful components.
