Application:

1. Copper sulfate pentahydrate is used as analytical reagent and raw material for ferrite preparation

2. Copper sulfate pentahydrate can be used as iron fortifier for feed additives.

3. Copper sulfate pentahydrate can be used as pesticide in agriculture to prevent smut of wheat, scar scab of apples and pears, and rot of fruit trees; It can also be used as fertilizer to remove moss and lichens from tree trunks

Production method:

When titanium dioxide is produced by by-product method, ferrous sulfate and ferrous sulfate are produced by the decomposition of ilmenite with sulfuric acid, and the ferric iron is reduced to ferric iron with iron wire. The by-product of ferrous sulfate can be obtained by freezing crystallization. By the sulfuric acid method of 5H2SO4+2FeTiO3→2FeSO4+TiOS04+Ti(SO4)2+5H2O, the scrap iron is dissolved in the mixture of dilute sulfuric acid and mother liquor, and the reaction temperature is controlled below 80℃, otherwise the precipitation of ferrous sulfate monohydrate will occur. The slightly acidic ferrous sulfate solution produced by the reaction was clarified and removed by impurities, then cooled and centrifuged to obtain light green ferrous sulfate. Fe+H2SO4→FeSO4+H2↑
